Diamond Bar roads and your tires
The 57 and the 60 together
For a short stretch the Orange Freeway and the Pomona Freeway run on the same roadway through Diamond Bar. The 60 carries heavy container truck traffic between the ports and the Inland Empire. More trucks means more debris in the lanes.
Interchange construction
Work on the 57/60 interchange improvements began in 2023 and is scheduled to finish in 2028. Lane shifts and temporary pavement come with it. Hit a rough seam hard and the alignment can go.
Brea Canyon and the hills
South of the 60, the 57 climbs through Brea Canyon, the gap between the Chino Hills and the Puente Hills. Diamond Bar Boulevard runs along the valley floor with neighborhoods on the hills above it. Grades and curves wear tires faster when pressure is low.
Summer heat
Average highs are about 90°F in July and 92°F in August, and Diamond Bar has recorded 113°F. Heat raises pressure through the day, so check and set your tires cold, in the morning.
