Upland is next door. Moreno Street, where our shop is, turns into 7th Street the moment it crosses Benson Avenue into Upland. Most of the city is a few minutes away.
Getting here from Upland
From central Upland, take 7th Street west. Cross Benson Avenue and you're on Moreno Street in Montclair. We're on this stretch, before you reach Central Avenue.
From north Upland, come south on Central Avenue past Foothill Boulevard and Arrow Highway, then turn left (east) on Moreno.
On the freeway, the 10 is the easy way in. Take Exit 49 for Central Avenue, go north to Moreno and turn right.
Upland roads and your tires
Uphill all the way north
Upland climbs from about 1,175 feet at the south end to around 2,000 feet at the foothills. Grades and stop-and-go traffic wear tires unevenly when the alignment is off.
Euclid Avenue and Foothill
Euclid is State Route 83, and Foothill Boulevard is old Route 66. Lots of lights, lots of turning, lots of curbs. A hard curb hit is the classic way to knock an alignment out.
Mt. Baldy runs
Mountain Avenue (I-10 Exit 50) is signed for Mt. Baldy. When storms hit, chain controls can go up on the mountain. Under Caltrans R-2 rules, AWD and 4WD vehicles need snow-tread tires on all four wheels and still have to carry chains.
Summer heat
Average highs run about 92°F in July and 94°F in August. Heat pushes pressure up through the afternoon, so check and set your tires cold, in the morning.
