Wheel and fitment questions

Will bigger wheels change how my car rides?

Usually. A larger wheel with a lower-profile tire keeps the overall diameter the same but gives the tire less sidewall, so the ride gets firmer and potholes hit harder.

Can I keep my TPMS sensors?

Often yes, if they're healthy and compatible with the new wheels. If not, new sensors are programmed to your vehicle.

Do you repair bent or curbed wheels?

No. We don't do wheel repair. We can replace a damaged wheel or set you up with a new set.

Should I re-torque new wheels?

Some wheel makers call for a lug nut re-check after the first drive. We'll tell you if yours does.

What is a bolt pattern?

The number of lugs and the circle they sit on, like 5x114.3. It has to match your hub exactly.

What does offset mean?

Where the mounting face sits relative to the wheel's centerline. Wrong offset rubs fenders or suspension.

What is the center bore?

The hole in the middle of the wheel. Hub-centric rings fill the gap when an aftermarket wheel's bore is larger than your hub.

Does the wheel's load rating matter?

Yes. Each wheel is rated for a maximum load. Trucks and heavy SUVs need wheels rated for them.

What is a lug seat?

Conical, ball or flat. Using the wrong lug nuts is how wheels come loose, so the hardware is matched to the wheel.

What happens to TPMS on new wheels?

Your sensors can usually move to the new wheels, or new sensors get programmed to your vehicle.
