About Cragar

Cragar started out selling aircraft engines and cylinder heads for the Model A Ford. Richter bought the company in 1955, helped found SEMA in 1963, and the next year launched the S/S: a chrome-plated steel rim on an aluminum center. In 1970 Cragar wheels were on Gary Gabelich's Blue Flame when it hit 622.407 mph.

The S/S is still the core of the line. The 08/61 S/S is a chrome, 2-piece composite 5-spoke in 14 and 15 inch, and the 61C S/S adds 17 inch sizes. The Keystone Klassic and Street Pro cover the vintage mag look, and a steel range covers restorations.

For newer muscle cars with bigger brakes, the Rally II is a 1-piece cast aluminum version of the Rally style in 17 and 18 inch, built to clear OE or aftermarket disc brakes.

Muscle car, hot rod and classic truck owners restoring a period look, and late-model muscle owners who want the Rally style over big brakes.

Getting Cragar wheels at Kwik Tire

  • We order through our wholesale wheel distributors, so tell us the style, size and finish you want
  • Fitment is checked before anything is ordered: bolt pattern, offset, center bore, load rating and lug seat
  • Tires sized so the overall diameter stays where your speedometer expects it
  • Mounted and balanced here, lugs torqued to the wheel maker's number
  • TPMS sensors moved over when they can be, new ones programmed when they can't

Cragar wheels ship without lug nuts, and the seat type matters. The 08/61 S/S uses mag lugs with Cragar washers, while the 61C and most steel wheels take conical or bulge seat lugs. We match the lug nuts to the wheel and check backspacing against your brakes and fenders.

Cragar wheel questions

Who owns Cragar?

The Carlstar Group acquired the Cragar brand in 2014, and Cragar's 2025 catalog lists the Cragar and Cragar S/S marks as registered trademarks of Titan International, Inc.

When did the Cragar S/S come out?

Roy Richter introduced the Super Sport, or S/S, in 1964. It paired a chrome-plated steel rim with an aluminum center, and by 1965 Cragar wheels had recognition in several drag racing associations.

Can Kwik order Cragar wheels?

Yes. We order through our wholesale distributors. We check bolt pattern, backspacing, hub bore, lug seat type and tire size before ordering, then mount and balance the set.

Do Cragar wheels come with lug nuts?

No. Cragar's catalog says lug nuts are not included. Some styles need mag lugs with washers and others take conical or bulge seat lugs, so we get the right ones for your wheels.
