Cooper started in Akron in 1914 and made its home in Findlay, Ohio, building tires for American trucks and cars. Goodyear bought the company in 2021, and the Discoverer truck and SUV family still carries the name.

About Cooper
Cooper began as the M and M Manufacturing Company and ran as an independent tire maker for more than a century before Goodyear completed its purchase in June 2021. Back in 2003 Cooper bought Max-Trac Tire, which brought Mickey Thompson into the company, so those two brands now sit under Goodyear together.
The Discoverer line does most of the work. The AT3 4S and the Road+Trail AT are daily-driver all-terrains that carry the three-peak mountain snowflake mark. The Rugged Trek adds bigger shoulder lugs, and the STT Pro is the most extreme off-road all-season Cooper makes.
On the car side, the Cobra Instinct is a performance all-season with an asymmetric tread, launched in 2023.

Yes. Goodyear completed its purchase of Cooper Tire & Rubber in June 2021. Cooper keeps its own lineup, and Mickey Thompson came along as part of Cooper.
Discoverer AT3 4S or Rugged Trek?
Both are all-season tires with the severe-snow mark. The AT3 4S is the calmer daily driver, and Cooper backs it with a 65,000-mile limited warranty. The Rugged Trek has bigger shoulder scoops and stone ejectors for more dirt traction, with a 60,000-mile limited warranty. Mostly pavement? AT3 4S.
