Hankook said at launch that Laufenn would start as a third-tier price brand, replacing its old Aurora line, with Hankook itself moving up a tier. Ten years on, Hankook describes Laufenn as a global brand sold in more than 100 countries. It is a Hankook product sold on value, not a private label.
The US range is eight tires. For cars there is the G FIT AS touring all-season, the S FIT AS ultra-high-performance all-season, and the I FIT Ice studdable winter tire. For pickups, SUVs and vans there are the X FIT HT highway tire, X FIT HP on-road SUV tire, X FIT AT and X FIT AT2 all-terrains, and X FIT Van. The AT2 carries the three-peak mountain snowflake, which matters more in Big Bear than in Montclair.
Laufenn's US product pages show a 60K-mile warranty badge on the G FIT AS and X FIT HT, 60K and 50K P-metric on the X FIT AT2, plus a 30-day free trial and road hazard warranty. If you are cross-shopping, Laufenn sits with Nexen, Kumho and GT Radial. A Hankook Kinergy or Dynapro is the next tier up from the same company.
Budget-minded drivers on the 10 and the 60 who want a tire from a major maker without the major-maker price tier, and pickup owners who need a highway or all-terrain tire for work.
